Before you travel
- Ask for bill photo (redact personal details) and IMEI in chat.
- Cross-check IMEI on official carrier or manufacturer lookup tools where available.
At handover
- Confirm Find My / Google account is removed and phone is factory-reset in front of you.
- Test call, speaker, camera, and charging port before UPI.
Red flags
Pressure to pay before meeting, prices far below market with "urgent travel" stories, or refusal to meet at a public, well-lit spot.
