Local marketplaces work best when buyers and sellers treat meetups like small logistics operations: clear place, clear time, clear inspection steps.
Before you meet
- Pick a predictable spot: busy storefronts, mall food courts, or bank ATMs with foot traffic—not isolated parking lots after dark.
- Agree on what “working” means: for electronics, bring a power bank or ask to plug in on-site; for appliances, confirm what accessories are included before you travel.
- Keep chat on-platform until you are comfortable: it preserves context if something goes wrong later.
At handover
- Inspect before you pay: count cash or send UPI only after you have touched the item and confirmed serials/model where relevant.
- Say no to pressure: anyone rushing you to skip inspection is a red flag—politely reschedule.
After the deal
- Rate honestly when your product supports it: it helps the next neighbour make a better decision.
